The localization rate of major engineering pump products has gradually increased, and the current has basically met the needs of national economic construction and development. However, as far as the current overall situation of the industry is concerned, there is still a gap between China and industrialized countries. In particular, the independent development ability of enterprises is weak, the core technology of products with high technical content and high added value urgently needed for the development of the national economy has not yet been mastered, and there are still many problems to be solved urgently.

1. Lack of investment in research and development

Domestic enterprises in the accumulation of product technology, new product development and some famous foreign companies have a significant gap. Insufficient investment in science and technology funds and research and development funds has become a major factor restricting the independent research and development of the pump manufacturing industry. According to incomplete statistics of the industry, R & D capital investment accounts for less than 2% of the sales revenue of enterprises. Compared with well-known foreign companies, the R & D capital investment of the whole industry is very small, which seriously restricts the research and development of new technologies, new products, new materials and new processes.

2. Weak ability of independent innovation

The digestion and absorption of imported technology is slow, most enterprises are not strong in technological innovation, and lack of independent intellectual property manufacturing technology and product technology. Although most of the products in the water pump industry have basically achieved independent production and manufacturing, some major technical equipment due to the lack of independent intellectual property rights, the core technology is still in the hands of foreign parties. Domestic pump manufacturing enterprises are mostly responsible for the low-end processing of products, and the breadth and depth of autonomy still need to be improved. For example, the nuclear-grade pump products in the complete sets of nuclear power plants and the high-pressure boiler feed pump core package products in the complete sets of million-kilowatt supercritical and ultra-supercritical thermal power plants have been manufactured in China. Most of the key core technologies required in large-scale petrochemical complete sets of technical equipment, such as high-pressure small-flow pumps, corrosion-resistant chemical process pumps, corrosion-resistant and wear-resistant centrifugal pumps for coal liquefaction, and positive displacement pumps, still need to import, this is the domestic pump industry enterprises need to focus on the direction.

3. Weak basic supporting components

The development of basic technology lags behind, and the basic supporting components are even more weak links. For a long time, due to the lack of attention to basic technology research, the development of basic machinery and basic components in China's equipment manufacturing industry lags behind, which has become the primary factor restricting the development of major technical equipment. Mechanical seals, instruments and minimum flow devices and other basic supporting mechanical products, mostly low-grade products, new energy quality is not stable enough, which is also an important reason why many users choose to buy foreign pump products.

4, the core technology depends on imports

Important technical equipment still need to rely on imports, the domestic pump industry attaches too much importance to the introduction, despise the introduction of technology digestion, absorption and re-innovation, the phenomenon of blind repetition of the introduction of serious. Through the introduction of foreign advanced design and manufacturing technology to shorten the gap with the world's advanced level, it is still an important channel for the development and upgrading of water pump manufacturing technology. In the 1990 s, although the domestic pump manufacturing industry was able to provide some major equipment and products needed for economic construction, the core technology still relied mainly on foreign imports, and the industry's own independent development and digestion, absorption and re-innovation capabilities were still very weak.

5. The complete set of capabilities is too weak

The overall design of domestic water pump enterprises, complete sets of capacity is too weak. The industry as a whole lacks general contracting enterprises with system design, complete sets of capabilities and system service functions.

This is mainly reflected in the following two aspects:

On the one hand, the overall design and system integration capabilities of China's pump manufacturing industry are weak in major complete projects, making it difficult to provide users with comprehensive solutions and "turnkey projects";

On the other hand, the development of China's pump manufacturing industry is a more complicated system engineering, which requires close cooperation between research units, design units, manufacturing units, manufacturing enterprises and application departments to collaborate on large-scale production.

However, looking at the current situation of the domestic pump industry, this is not the case at all. Enterprises with general contracting capabilities have not yet formed, and scientific research institutes, design institutions, and manufacturing enterprises are independent. Part of the complete equipment manufacturing system, in the fierce international and domestic market competition, gradually crushed by multinational companies, squeezed out, into a multinational parts supplier.

6, the application department "infatuated with" imported water pumps

The lack of enthusiasm of the application sector to buy domestic water pumps is bound to shackle the enthusiasm of water pump manufacturers to develop independent intellectual property rights and patented products. After more than half a century of development, especially during the national "Eleventh Five-Year Plan" and "Twelfth Five-Year Plan", with the construction of a number of key projects such as my country's million tons of ethylene, ten million tons of oil refining, and one million kilowatts of nuclear power, It has stimulated the development of my country's pump products, and the number of domestic equipment has increased. The technical level of China's water pump manufacturing enterprises has a great price advantage compared with foreign countries, and domestic water pump products should gain a greater market share. However, due to the blind pursuit of the most advanced foreign technology and equipment by some user departments, without considering the cost performance, there are countless examples of national pump products being defeated by foreign products in domestic procurement bidding. In particular, independent innovation, the pump products of the first major technical equipment developed by ourselves have reached or exceeded similar foreign products, but the user department still refuses to use various excuses such as monthly operating performance, which makes it difficult for domestic pump products to be used in some key projects and key projects.

7, "two" level is low.

In the national "Twelfth Five-Year" development plan, it is proposed to comprehensively improve the level of informatization and promote the deep integration of informatization and industrialization. During the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" period, pump manufacturing enterprises upgraded their ERP systems and installed new Director6 production management systems and LPM systems. However, the application rate of information technology in the pump manufacturing industry is still relatively low. Information technology has become an indispensable means to enhance the production efficiency and added value of industrial industry, including product upgrading, remote monitoring of key equipment, wireless monitoring, enterprise management and other links are increasingly inseparable from the application of information technology. However, as far as the domestic water pump industry is concerned, the comprehensive application of information technology has not been widely used in its domestic water pump manufacturing industry, which has completely affected the future sustainable development of the water pump industry. The development potential of water pump enterprises is insufficient, which restricts the overall development level of the industry, making it difficult for domestic water pump enterprises to compete with foreign advanced enterprises.

8, industry norms need to be updated

Industry common technology research is missing, design, process, materials, manufacturing standards and specifications need to be updated. Due to the restructuring, some industry-oriented research institutes have become separate enterprises. The nature of the organization and the focus of work have undergone great changes. The technical support role of the industry is weakening day by day, and the development of new technologies and new processes is relatively slow. Many standards such as technology, materials and manufacturing are difficult to connect with foreign countries, which causes an important bottleneck restricting the development of the water pump industry.
